(ACADEMIC VERSION) A few days and hours ago our MTG Officers brought forth into this Academic building "Mambo Nuevo Enthusiasts", spurred with enough morale and dedicated to the proposition that all shall become "TENIENTES". Now we are engaged in a great academic war testing whether that cadet or any cadet so engaged with determination can long endure. We are in this impressive building to fight this war. We have come to dedicate a portion of our room as a striving place for "blue" grades. We'll meet in some more daily graded recitations, written partial reviews, and written general reviews. I write to dedicate this column to the cadet who gives out the most sacrifice though he is "rotting" in class most of the time. But in a broader sense, we cannot blame him who gets washed out: For the Academic Group is just doing its duty to maintain the standard for each student. The people will little note nor know what we do here, but they will see us soon in the BCTs. It is for us rather to uphold and, maintain the standards of our studies that from those who came before us we take increased devotion to our duty. . .that this Academy under the Armed Forces of the Philippines shall go on forever and that to be academic conscious shall not perish from our minds. (My apology to Mr Abe Lincoln)
